After many years of service, we are announcing the closure of the Language Terminal portal and all its services on February 3, 2025. This decision was communicated last year, and this post serves as the final reminder to ensure a smooth transition for users.
If you’re a Language Terminal user, it’s essential to act now to secure your data and prepare for the shutdown. Here’s everything you need to know.
What Does This Mean for You?
- For Language Terminal Users:
If you have been using Language Terminal, please download a copy of your data before February 3. After this date, the portal will no longer be accessible, and your data will not be retrievable. - For Non-Users:
If you don’t use Language Terminal, you don’t need to take any action.
Recommendations for Language Terminal Users
- InDesign File Conversion:
If you use Language Terminal to convert Adobe InDesign files, we recommend switching to Adobe InDesign Markup Language (IDML) files instead of INDD files. The IDML format is natively supported by memoQ’s InDesign filter and offers a seamless alternative for your workflow. - Sharing Resources and Backups:
-
- Export and download your translation memories, term bases, and saved projects before February 3.
- For sharing resources, you can use memoQ TMS, the memoQ backup wizard, or other file-sharing services moving forward.
Additional Notes
- Server Administrator Weighted Word Counts:
After disconnecting memoQ TMS from Language Terminal, you’ll be able to configure weighted word counts in the Server Administrator. - Troubleshooting:
If you experience issues related to Language Terminal in memoQ desktop or memoQ TMS (e.g., unable to edit weighted word counts), please ensure that Language Terminal is disconnected.
