Shopify

Seamless localization from Shopify to memoQ and back.

What is Shopify?

Shopify is a commerce platform that powers online stores for millions of businesses. The Shopify Integration is a native application that connects Shopify storefronts directly to memoQ, enabling ecommerce teams and localization managers to translate store content without leaving their existing workflow. Content is selected, submitted, tracked, and returned, all from within Shopify.

How it works with memoQ

In the Shopify app, you choose the content types to translate, such as products, collections, blogs, or pages, and start the translation batch. Content is packaged and sent to aconnector, which creates projects in memoQ, where it is assigned and translated by your team or vendors. Completed translations are sent back through the connector and applied to your Shopify store automatically.

Because you can track progress live and review batch history directly in the Shopify app, you always know what is in progress, done, or waiting, without checking out a separate system or an inbox full of status emails.

The value for your team

  • One-click translation kickoff. Select content by type, such as products, collections, blogs, or pages, and launch translation directly from the Shopify app. No file exports, no email chains.
  • A fully automated round trip. Content flows from Shopify through the integration to memoQ for translation, then returns and updates your store automatically, with no manual re-entry.
  • Live progress tracking. Monitor the status of active translation batches in real time, right inside Shopify.
  • Content-type precision. Choose exactly what goes out for translation, so localization stays focused and cost-efficient.
        • memoQ-powered quality. Every Shopify content update runs through memoQ’s translation memory, terminology management, Adaptive Generative Translation (AGT) for AI-enhanced translation, machine translation (MT), and quality assurance (QA) features.

        Who is the integration for?

        • Ecommerce managers and Shopify store owners running multilingual storefronts
        • Localization managers and LSP (language service provider) project managers handling high-volume retail translation
        • Global marketing and content teams responsible for product descriptions, collections, blogs, and landing pages across multiple languages

It is particularly relevant for stores managing multilingual storefronts, seasonal campaigns, or high-volume product catalogs across multiple markets.

              Why is it beneficial?

The integration replaces the manual workarounds that usually slow down Shopify localization. It helps teams:

              • Eliminate manual content export and re-entry between Shopify and translation tools
                • Keep translation status visible inside Shopify, instead of scattered across emails and spreadsheets
                  • Avoid content mismatches, stale translations, and versioning errors caused by manual transfers
                    • Launch new products and campaigns faster, without a slow, manual localization handoff
                      • Connect ecommerce and localization teams in one shared workflow, instead of two disconnected toolchains

From the store’s perspective, the return on investment comes from faster time-to-market for new products and campaigns, fewer manual handoffs between ecommerce and localization teams, and consistent, memoQ-quality translations delivered straight back into Shopify. Store teams keep their existing Shopify workflow while gaining access to memoQ’s translation memory, terminology management, and quality controls.
