Local Heroes

Goals

Goals

Local Heroes needed a reliable TMS to complete a project containing around 200 XML files spread across numerous subfolders. Their goal was to improve translation efficiency, handle file management with ease, and maintain the integrity of XML tags while ensuring smooth collaboration across multiple languages.

Challenges

Challenges

Handling hundreds of XML files with untranslatable tags was nearly impossible. Navigating through numerous subfolders, consolidating content without losing context, and preventing tag corruption were among the main challenges. Manually importing and exporting files across languages would have been time-consuming and error-prone.

memoQ TMS made it possible to import only the translatable text, filtering out untranslatable tags. With Views, translators combined files into a single workspace, speeding up work while keeping context clear. The batch import/export feature removed the need for manual file handling, keeping everything organized and the XML tags intact.

“memoQ TMS was the connective tissue that made an improbable project possible. It kept us sane and our client happy, with all files and folders in their correct place and not a single XML tag corrupted.”

Turning Complexity into Clarity

Local Heroes faced a serious challenge with a complex project. Managing around 200 XML files across multiple subfolders could have been overwhelming. Without memoQ TMS, the project would have required extensive manual handling, increasing the risk of errors. memoQ’s ability to import only the translatable content removed distractions caused by irrelevant tags. The Views feature helped consolidate scattered files into a single workspace, allowing translators to work faster without losing context. Batch import/export saved time and ensured all files were in their correct place, with XML tags preserved. memoQ’s TMS turned a challenging project into a successful one.
