What is Contentful? 

Contentful is a composable content platform. It separates content from presentation, so teams can create content once and publish it across websites, apps, and any other channel Contentful powers. Content, product, and marketing teams use Contentful to move fast without losing consistency, especially across multiple brands, markets, and languages. 

Why translate Contentful content with memoQ

Translations return to the exact entry they came from. Once memoQ TMS finishes a translation, it delivers automatically back to the same Contentful entry, ready to publish, with no manual re-entry.

  • Only translate what changed. iLangL Localization Hub compares each order to the last translation and leaves unchanged content out of scope, so you are not paying to retranslate content that has not moved. 
  • Full visibility, from order to delivery. Track translation status by language and service directly from the Contentful entry sidebar, so editors always know what is translated, in progress, or may need an update. 

How memoQ works with Contentful  

The integration is provided by iLangL, a long-term trusted partner that connects translation technologies with other systems.  

The iLangL Contentful App connects Contentful, iLangL Localization Hub, and memoQ TMS into one round-trip workflow, all without leaving your content workflow.

  • Order the translation. From the Contentful entry editor, select the entries, target languages, and services you need, including any referenced content, such as hero blocks or shared components, to include for context. 
  • Content is analyzed in iLangL Localization Hub. The order is checked against the last translation, so unchanged content is left out of scope, then the job is prepared for memoQ TMS using your existing project templates and resources. 
  • Translate in memoQ TMS. Linguists translate using your established workflows, resources, and assignments, exactly as they would for any other memoQ project. 
  • Translation delivers back automatically. Finished content returns to the same Contentful entry, and delivery sequencing makes sure a newer translation is never overwritten by an older one if multiple orders are in flight.
