Laniqo — Adaptive, Industry-Specific Machine Translation, Inside Your Existing Workflow

Laniqo is an adaptive, industry-specific machine translation platform supporting 36 languages, with models designed to adapt to an organization’s terminology, domain, style, and tone. This integration gives translators, LSPs, and localization teams access to Laniqo’s machine translation results inside the memoQ projects and workflow they already use.

How it works with memoQ

Once configured, Laniqo appears as an MT provider inside memoQ’s translation environment. Segments are sent to Laniqo’s adaptive MT engine and the results are returned directly into the memoQ editor, alongside translation memory and terminology matches, so translators can work through a project exactly as they normally would — confirming segments, applying QA, and managing terminology — without leaving memoQ or copying content between tools.

Because Laniqo’s models are built to adapt to an organization’s domain, terminology, style, and tone. As a result, translator get suggestions built around the content type and house style they are working with, rather than generic output.

Why Laniqo?

  • Adaptive, industry-specific MT: Models tuned to an organization’s terminology, domain, style, and tone across 36 languages, rather than a one-size-fits-all general engine.
  • Native memoQ integration: Laniqo MT results appear directly in the memoQ translation environment — no exporting, copying, or switching between applications.
  • Built on academic and industry research: Laniqo originated as a spin-off from Adam Mickiewicz University and PONS Langenscheidt, and its team publishes in venues such as ACL, WMT, MT Summit, and EAMT.
  • Proven terminology accuracy: Laniqo reports over 99% term accuracy at the WMT25 Terminology Translation Task, reflecting its focus on domain and terminology fidelity.
  • Track record with high-volume, domain-specific content: Laniqo works with Allegro, a major European e-commerce platform, on domain-specific MT for global expansion, and was recognized as Best Global Expansion Solution at the E-Commerce Germany Awards 2025 and named to the Slator Language AI 50 Under 50 (2026).

Who is this integration for?

  • Language service providers managing multilingual projects
  • In-house localization and language teams
  • Organizations translating domain-specific content at scale
  • Teams that require consistent terminology and style across projects
  • Professional translators and post-editors using memoQ

It is particularly relevant for workflows involving specialized content, such as e-commerce, technical and engineering documentation, medical content, and other terminology-intensive material.

What are the benefits?

The integration brings Laniqo’s domain-adapted machine translation directly into the translator’s established memoQ environment. It helps users:

  • Produce high-quality first translations faster
  • Reduce copying, exporting, and switching between tools
  • Improve terminology and stylistic consistency
  • Reduce repetitive post-editing work
  • Scale translation volumes without proportionally increasing manual effort
  • Keep translators in control of review and final approval

From the client’s perspective, the return on investment comes from higher translator productivity, shorter turnaround times, more consistent output, and lower post-editing effort. Clients can benefit from Laniqo’s specialized translation technology while retaining their existing memoQ processes, resources, and quality controls.
