ISO Standards

Many professional terminologists use ISO 704 and ISO 10241 as the basis for their terminology management process. Their terminology work improves because of the use of international best practices. Qterm supports both standards by allowing terminologists to manage terminology easily and effectively and allowing other users such as translators to use this terminology directly from within memoQ.

Rather than treating it as a task only for translators, terminology should support branding, design, content creation, quality assurance, and both human and machine translation efforts.

Qterm offers a centralized, browser-based solution that gives internal teams and external partners access to up-to-date, approved terminology. It ensures that the organization controlling the terminology also controls how it is used across all languages.

When You Have That “I’ve Already Seen This Somewhere” Feeling

When translating, you can sometimes come across sections that you’re sure you have translated before. But when you work with many projects, it can be hard to remember where and when you already worked with that specific section. Unless you know exactly which project to search in, it could take hours to find it.

Project-specific limitations slow you down, forcing you to redo work you’ve already completed. The lookup tool provides linguists with access to language resources going beyond their assigned memoQ projects, so no more guesswork is needed when it comes to past translations.
